How can you study in Australia?

Most students often wonder what are the steps that one needs to complete in order to successfully study in Australia. In the steps below you can find all the necessary information step by step to successfully study in Australia.

1. Counselling/ Course Selection

You can get counselling and/or guidance on course selection in one of the following ways:

a) In Person visit at our premises

b) Schedule an appointment for online counselling

c) Get pre-assessment of your qualifications

2. Application for offer

Upon the selection of the course and the universities, you will be required to submit the following documents for the processing of your offer, which usually takes around 7-10 days.

Offer checklist documents:

  1. Passport

  2. Academic transcripts and certificates
English proficiency test result

  4. Work experience certificate if available
Statement of Purpose 

  6. Other relevant documents

3. Medical Examination

Medical clearance is very important for students applying for studying in Australia and we recommend students to get the medical examinations done immediately after offer letter. 

  1. HAP ID creation

  2. Book an appointment for medical Examination
  3. Pay the fees and get yourself examined.

4. GTE Assessment

The genuine temporary entrant (GTE) requirement is an integrity assessment that is applicable to all applicants for a student visa. Students must provide evidence to substantiate that they are coming to Australia temporarily to gain a quality education and intend to use the student visa program for its intended purpose only and not as a channel to gain residency in Australia.

Once you have received the offer letter, then GTE Application is processed. It is one of the most important part of your process for studying in Australia. Without a positive GTE Assessment, you cannot move forward with your visa application.

What does a GTE assessment constitute?

A GTE assessment takes in account the following factors: 

  1. Circumstances in home country

  2. Potential Situation in Australia

  3. Value of the course to the student's future

  4. Immigration history

Documents Required for GTE Assessment

  1. GTE Application forms
Birth Certificate/Passports (All pages of passport, including current, expired or cancelled)

  3. English language proficiency (IELTS/TOEFL/PTE)

  4. Education and Employment details (Academic transcripts and work experience certificates)

  5. Details of marital status (Certificate of marriage, photos etc in case married)

  6. Immigration history (Copy of visa, Visa refusals, withdrawals and cancellations)

Income statements

  8. Details of financial capacity (Relationship certificate, fixed assets evaluation, fixed deposits or Education loan, Income sources of sponsor)

  9. Additional documents may be asked case to case basis. 

5. Payment of tuition fees

Upon positive GTE assessment from your higher education provider:

  1. Apply for No Objection letter online

  2. Transfer the tuition fees

  3. Send the fee transfer receipt to the university 

  4. Receive E-COE (Electronic Confirmation of Enrolment)

6. Visa Application

Upon having received your COE, the next stage is visa lodgement online:

  • Submission of your online visa application along with all the relevant documents
Payment of the visa application fees

Required documents for visa application: 

  1. Academic Transcripts 

  2. Copy of Passport

  3. Proof of English language proficiency (IELTS/TOEFL/PTE)

  4. Details of work experience

  5. Statement of purpose

  6. Confirmation of Enrolment 

  7. Evidence of ties to home country (Financial, family and social ties)
8) Finance and income statements to prove your ability to fund your study and living expenses in Australia

These are the basic mandatory requirements for a visa application.Additional documents may be requested case to case basis.

7. Biometrics

You will need to get your Biometrics done after your visa application is submitted and you will received confirmation of the Biometrics from DHA (Department of Home Affairs).

8. Visa decision

Upon having completed all the stages above, you will need to wait for the processing of your visa application by the DHA. The processing time can vary based on several factors but usually within 42 days with exceptions.

9. Confirm your accommodation & flight

Before you travel to the UK, it is important that your accommodation and flight is confirmed in addition to ensuring the carry of enough funds for your living in the UK.

10. Arrival at the university/college

Once you have arrived at the university or college, you should register at the international office of the higher education provider. During the orientation session you will be made familiar with the education institutions facilities for international students and class schedules.

Dependent visa applications

  • Undergraduate applications with dependants are not accepted.
  • Students leaving dependants behind is less risky but again this depends on a case to case basis.
  • Marriage should be a year old at least.
  • It is recommended to submit a wedding card and pictures.
  • It is recommended that adult dependents to have at least a Bachelor degree.
