While in possession of a student visa, you have certain obligations to fulfil you must remain enrolled in a CRICOS-registered course, attend classes regularly, make satisfactory course progress and maintain OSHC health insurance.
There are also certain visa conditions you and your dependents must comply with. Breaching a visa condition may result in the cancellation of your visa. When completing your online visa application form, you will need to provide evidence of the following according to the Australian student visa requirements:
Evidence of sufficient funds to cover tuition, travel and living costs. From February 2018, the amount you need to prove you have for living costs (separate from tuition and travel) is set at AUD$21,041 (~USD$20,290) for a year.
Students are required to meet the financial requirements for the visa application for studying in Australia. At the moment, students are required to have the access to the funds which covers the first year tuition fees and the living and travel expenses to Australia. If you are applying along with Dependents, you will need to have additional funds to cover the living expenses of the dependents too.
Usually either bank loan or matured funds of at least 3 months in bank account or cash deposits from suitable source is required. If you are applying as a single applicant, you will need to have the access to the funds of around 35 Lakhs to 45 lakhs which varies according to the tuition fees of your chosen university or course. If you are applying along with dependents, you need to get bank loan from one of the class A commercial banks of at least around 50 lakhs to cover the living cost of your and your dependent along with tuition fees and travel expenses.
Students are required to show a proficiency of English language requirements as required by the course or the university and your chosen college. For most bachelor degree an IELTS score of 6.0 (5.5) should be enough except for Nursing and some programs which require higher English proficiency.
For VET programs (Diploma and Advanced Diploma programs), an English proficiency of IELTS 6.0 (5.5) or 5.5 (5.0) depending upon the institution should be enough but can vary from one institution to another. For most Master degree programs, an English proficiency of IELTS 6.5 (6.0) is enough but there are exceptions for programs such as Nursing and TESOL

In addition to the medical examination, students are required to purchase Overseas Student Health Cover (OSHC). The cost of the health cover depending upon the provider and the duration for which you need to purchase the health cover.
Australian student visa requirements stipulate that you must be of good character to enter Australia. This includes a criminal record check, to make sure you don’t have a substantial criminal record. You may also need to acquire a penal clearance certificate (or police certificate) or get a police statement, and may be asked to complete a Character Statutory Declaration Form.
